The topic of parasitology is a matter of concern for all directly or indirectly. So it is essential that all citizens, particularly students, must have an understanding and knowledge of parasitology with a special concentration on protozoa. The objective of this book is to create awareness among readers on the various aspects of parasitology and about protozoa in detail. Various types of diseases caused by protozoa have been explained in detail with suitable diagrams to help readers and students understand the concept easily. This book also provides a comprehensive overview on the classification details of protozoa, structure, nutrition, respiration, excretion and reproduction in protozoa. Authors have collected data from several authentic sources and tried to cite many real-life examples too. This book is presented both for general reading as well as to help the microbiology, zoology and medical students of our country. The authors will be grateful if any valuable suggestions are given by the readers to make the next edition more productive and useful. Dr.Syeed A. Untoo is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology at ICSC,

J&K UT India. He has been teaching Animal Sciences/Zoology/Fisheries/Aquaculture/Limnology/Ecology/

Hydrobiology/EnvironmentalSciences/Wildlife/Bio-Sciences/ Bio-Diversity and Aquatic Biology. Besides, Dr. Untoo is working onEcological/ Fisheries & Limnologicalaspects of ‘Wetlands of Kashmir’ at I.C.S.C., Srinagar, J&K (U.T) India. Dr. Untoo has diverse number of research publications in the National and International Refereed Journals recommended for Universities and Colleges. He has number of research papers in his credit. He is a member of various Refereed/Peer Research Journals of International repute. He is a member of several academic committees with good recognition in the field of research. He has done his PG,and Ph.D from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh India. Dr. Untoo possesses vast experience in teaching and research. Dr. Untoo has taught at Central and State Universities besides other affiliated Colleges of Indian Universities since 1999. He has served Aligarh Muslim University, AMU, Aligarh as teaching faculty in the Department of Zoology, Faculty of Life Sciences, AMU.

Sajad Sarvar is working as Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology (Animal

Sciences) at ICSC, J&K UT India. He has been teaching Zoology/ /Ecology/ Environmental Sciences /Wildlife/Bio-Sciences/ Bio- Diversity, both Chordate and Non-Chordate Zoology. Professor Sajad Sarvaris working on Ecological/ Wildlife aspects on ‘Fauna of Kashmir’ at I.C.S.C., Srinagar, J&K (U.T) India. Prof. Sarvar has number of research publications in his credit. He is a member of various Refereed/Peer Research Journals of International repute. He is a member of several academic committees. He has done his P.G from Jammu University. Prof Sarvar, possesses vast experience in teaching and research. Besides teaching at Central and State Universities he has been affiliated many PSO and state boards in designing syllabus and inspecting colleges and schools of J&K. Prof Sarvar has presented several research papers at national and international seminars and conferences. He is also the member of various scientific societies. He is member of UG and PG Board of Studies at P.G. Department of Zoology, ICSC.
