About this ebook

A hopeless love. An ancient secret. A bond that will change them forever.

ROMANCE WRITERS OF AUSTRALIA RUBY FINALIST 2021

Failed ballerina Ella Lewis has just landed a job in an industry she knows nothing about. The goal is simple: build a normal life and keep her father happy. So when construction worker Dax Coburn enters the scene, six-foot-three of pure complication, she knows she should steer clear. The mystery shadowing him sets alarm bells ringing, yet she’s drawn to him in a way that makes no sense. As Ella gets to know the cryptic man, she discovers a secret that threatens to unravel her tidy life.

Dax knows getting involved with a human is a bad idea. So why can’t he leave her alone? Gifted, funny, and alluring as hell, Ella Lewis is beautifully packaged trouble. As if he doesn’t have enough reasons to stay away, she’s just landed a job at the very company he’s vowed to destroy. Now his secret’s out, his pod exposed, and he must figure out if Ella is the mate he’s been waiting for or his path of ruin.

If you love a paranormal bad boy, soul mates, and sharp dialogue, then this high-emotion romance is for you.

Breathing Water is a standalone paranormal romance containing language and themes intended for mature readers.

I have loved every book I've read by Tanya Bird. Her Companion series is amazing so if you love historical romance with action and wit go check that out! Thank you Mrs. Bird for an ARC copy of this book! Breaking Water is heartbreakingly beautiful. Dax states that things can move quickly sometimes with his species but it in no way felt like insta-love. Their love is messy, complicated, passionate and most importantly felt REAL. Things went wrong and they made mistakes which even though this story has paranormal aspects made it very relatable. I also really adored the relationship between Ella and Lucy. Lucy was an amazing secondary character who brought comfort and light when needed. The scenes with her son were hilarious! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it did take me quite a bit to really get in to it. That may be just because I am not used this genre.

Breathing Water is Tanya Bird's first standalone book - which kinda is a shame since I would love to read more about the amazing characters. Once again, I got drawn to the pages as soon as I started reading, didn't want to put it down at all and had a laugh and a cry while reading it. The characters are amazing, seem real and genuine, and make you fall in love with almost all of them. I loved all the bits of Melbourne and Australia that brought back amazing memories. The book leaves you with a happy, content feeling whilst at the same time making you sad you're not ondine yourself... Absolute must read!

Dax and Ella are soulmates but they don't know it! Ella loves her dancing but has to give it up due to injuries. Dax works in construction although his heart is in saving marine life! When Dax and Ella bump into each other (literally) they aren't to know that they are meant to be. The attraction is immediate and strong for both of them with an unbelievable pull that only soulmates experience. Against all odds Ella and Dax are stronger and better together. This is a beautiful sometimes funny story of Ella & Dax who you will all fall in love with like I did! Intervowen with a child's inappropriate quips and family bonds this books touches the heartstrings and doesn't let go. You want to stay in their world even after finishing the book! Loved every second of it!
