you get to know the characters well individually before the author links them together by the action unfolding itself. At the end of the story one wonders what kind of author is writing the book, someone whose characters are dear to him, someone whose view of the world is optimistic or rather pessimistic, knowing that the outcome will clearly depend on it. I must say I am none the wiser. Find out for yourself. Meanwhile I will read his next book , because he has made me curious.
