About this ebook

Sri Harikathamruta Sara was composed in Kannada by the 18th century saint, philosopher, poet, Sri Jagannatha Dasa as an exhaustive summary of all scriptures extolling the greatness of the Lord Almighty Sri Hari. As the name suggests, it is the nectarine essence of Lord Sri Hari’s chronicles. It demonstrates the Lord’s infinite auspicious attributes, amazing activities such as creation of the universe, His defectless nature, five-fold differences (among the Lord Almighty-individual souls-inert objects), gradation among living beings, method of meditation and worship, procedures to traverse the spiritual path towards liberation, importance of devotion and so on based on the core tenets of the philosophy of Sri Madhwacharya. Spread over 32 chapters and 986 verses, this magnificent work is set in the bhamini shatpadi meter of 6 lined verses with specific counts of short and long letters. This book is based on one of earliest commentaries, Sri Guru Hrudaya Prakashika (1883) by Sri Guru Yogidhyeya Vittala Dasa in Kannada. A simple summary of the commentary on each verse is provided in English to help spread the message of this glorious work to a wider audience.
