Samantha is helping Kathy pack up her apartment to move back in to their family house when a man named George stumbles on them. He’s dead. And he’s trying to move on.
The sisters discover that, during the Great Depression, George sold his soul to a demon for good fortune, and now that demon is holding him back from moving on. Only, it doesn’t appear as if the demon made good on his end of the deal, leaving the state of George’s fate in question.
Spirit is a short story in the Coven series, which is part of the Art of Magic universe, containing the Lost By Magic and the Under the Moon series.
