Outstanding story, but was poorly typed...the book wasn't scanned from the original, except for the occasional page thrown in randomly. Spend the couple dollars for a halfway decent version!!

Excellent read about the brutality Solomon Northrup endured nearly daily while in captivity! Very powerful story describing how he never gave up his dream to be free once more.

Pages 255-258 are missing, but I was able to find them easily online. I just wish Solomon spoke more about his life after he returned to his family. Also, Patsey's story haunts me. I hope that woman managed to find some semblance of joy in her remaining days. Saw the movie and it definitely does this memoir justice :)
