The Camel King. When two British children go with their mother to pick up a letter from their father, Ambassador in Egypt, Mr. Bernard, the old mail clerk the kids about Egypt story about the White Talking Camel; one that has lived thousand years roaming the deserts. 

Arriving to an African seaport and walking to markets, Peter and Sarah are kidnapped by thieves of a caravan of desert thieves but their rescue comes them. Days later, the King Talking camel they ride talking on talking to them in mental whispers promises help them escape. Peter and Sara desert adventure begin riding on the humps of the talking camel going from Morocco to the pyramids of Egypt. 

 

With magic powers the King Camel sends all kidnapped children home like flying stars to where they belong. Peter and Sarah valiantly refuse to go and stay for their kind hearts wish to help the camel and ride on the camel's back to find the doorway returning him to his kingdom and find their parents go

home also. 

 

So, the story goes, while escaping the King Camel tells Peter and Sarah how he flying too far from home came down tumbling to earth away from its own planet. Peter, and Sarah, and their camel savior walked through desert sands for many weeks arriving to Egypt. All seems well there until a one-legged beggar hears the camel talking; he then tricks little Peter and Sarah, asking them for a short ride on the camel's back for his one leg hurts. The kind children say yes, but whoever mounts on the camel's back last owns the camel as new Master. The beggar now owns the camel and can demand his three wishes as the legend goes, and the beggar does and..so the desert adventure goes on and on for the Camel King and Peter and Sarah!
