Bei 32 Innovationsprojekten in unterschiedlichen Unternehmen bewertet Simon Papies im Verlaufe eines Jahres drei Mal personal- und prozessbezogene Erfolgsfaktoren. Es zeigt sich, dass sich die Ausprägung der Erfolgsfaktoren und die Einflussstärke je nach Projektphase im Projektverlauf verändern. Einige personalbezogene Faktoren wirken bei einem hohen Innovationsgrad stärker, bei den prozessbezogenen Einflussfaktoren ist die Prozessqualität von besonderer Bedeutung. Die Intensität der Kundeneinbindung wirkt umgekehrt u-förmig auf den Erfolg.
