Silent Heart

The second book in the Search and Rescue series follows Damien, who was severely injured in the first book, and his best friend’s younger brother, Preston. Preston is one of Ms Lane’s wonderfully unique characters who’s a bit different in the way his brain works, and this makes him a strong and well rounded man. In this book Preston and Damien has to find Preston’s brother, who’s Damiens friend and business partner, as he’s disappeared during a retrieval mission. Due to the accident in the first book Damien is affraid to fly, something he used to love, but he has to since he’s the pilot who can take them where they need to go. While the search adventure is going on we’re treated to a slow burn dance between two men who knows in their hearts that they’re meant for each other, but mainly Damien’s stubborn idea that Preston is off limits for him has kept them apart. Preston, on the other hand, knows that he wants Damien and he does his best to get him. While reading towards their inevitable HEA we get to experience strong, believable feelings, two wonderful men who deserve each other, and a charming addition to Amy Lane’s books. While this is book two in the series I think it can be read as a stand-alone.
