I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! It was so amazing! To start off, the hook was midway through chapter two. I have never had a book get to the part that quick. All the books in the Trilogy have a quick hook. They're never slow to get to the point. The characters in this book are amazing! This whole trigoly is so beautifully written, I can't even begin to tell you. I made all my bookworm friends read it, and they all love it! We made a group chat, and we only talk about how amazing the book is. The plot twists in this book had me reading more and more. When I've read other books and thought I loved them, never as much as I love this. I will never love another book series more than the Grishaverse.

I really liked this fantasy world created by Leigh, the plot twist she gave with Alexander's intentions were very *chef kiss*. However I felt that the development of the storyline is a bit slow or maybe it's because something exciting doesn't truly happen in the middle of it. But beyond that, I really like it and I genuinely can't wait to read the rest of the Grishaverse.

I was looking for some escapism & Shadow & Bone provided it for me. It's definitely a YA book with dashes of romance, but it is an easy and enthralling book to read. It opens instantly with adventure & intrigue. I thoroughly enjoyed it & will be sinking my teeth (like a volcra) into the next book in the installment.
