About this ebook

An electrifying horror novel about the queen of the trad wives, full of gothic rot, doppelgangers and one macabre, insidious deception, from three-time Bram Stoker winner Sarah Langan.

'Curses answer the sin that birthed them.'

Welcome to Black Swan. A picture-perfect 300-acre Pennsylvanian farm, home to lifestyle influencer Mia Wright, her all-American husband Gray and their seven children. Millions of followers from around the world watch every day as Mia makes meals from scratch, milks the cows, home schools the kids, cleans the house wearing a smile and perfectly touselled hair.

Sent on assignment by her magazine, and desperate to claw back a tarnished career, reporter Jenny Kaplan will spend a week profiling Mia and her family. She arrives at the remote farmhouse ready to pen a scathing expose and uncover any deception behind Mia's curated facade.

But Jenny soon has more to contend with than staged videos and homeschooling, because she is losing chunks of time, hallucinating at night. Her hair starts to fall out, and she is certain there is something in the house, watching, slithering. And why do the children move like that and sing strange nursery rhymes?

The answer is darker, more impossible than Jenny realises. Because there is horror at the heart of Black Swan. And it's waiting just for her.
