This book three of Men of New York about Carter and Cat are from opposite sides of the track. Cat grew up with wealth, became a doctor like her father, but was expected to be the trophy wife. Carter was given a new life and saved from the streets by the mafia and feels they are his family. Carter thinks he is not good enough for Cat and Ivy (her daughter), even though Cat doesn't want anyone else! The seesaw of emotions the characters go through while they work through their relationship keeps you reading to see what happens next. This book is exceptionally hot. A nurse with a troubled past trying to do good for her daughter. A mafia enforcer who is also a MMA fighter. When they meet sparks fly. He does show his sweet side with her daughter. It has a lot of emotion and a lot of steam. A great edition to the series. I really enjoyed this book. It was a doctor who started messing around with a mob member. The book was steamy and exciting and a little shocking with the things Cat had to go through dealing with her ex and her father. Such a good read!.
