The book analyses the fate of Uniform Civil Code in India in the context of Triple Talaq. The 1st edition was written when a bill placed in Indian Parliament in December 2017 to outlaw Instant Triple Talaq couldn’t pass the upper house. It covers from global Shariati history to recent ban on Talaq-e-biddat in India and many other relevant issues. In 2019 “Women’s Protection of Rights on Marriage Bill” is finally made law. The 2nd edition is being published mainly to incorporate this update.

After graduation with honours in Chemistry followed by BEd and MBA from Burdwan University, Sriparna started her career in a pharmaceutical company. Enduring some turmoil in her professional life she anchored in the literary field in 2010 and since then is contributing fictions, poems, juvenile literature, articles, features, travelogues, reviews etc to different magazines and dailies. She has also written contents for some websites.
Though the journey commenced with poetry, Sriparna’s prose is highly acknowledged. She loves writing research oriented essays from her social concern and has shared her elaborate studies on gender bias, crisis of Bengalis etc serially or as independent articles in different journals. “Fate of Uniform Civil Code in India: Context Triple Talaq” is the latest among such endeavour which is first to appear as a book responding to the present situation.
The compulsively outspoken and transparent character was born in 5th December 1971 at Medinipur, her maternal place, and brought up at Dishergarh coal belt of West Burdwan by virtue of her paternal origin.
