I have enjoyed this series, and this story is a good addition. If you haven’t read the previous stories, the series centers around the McKinnon brothers whose father has been missing for weeks . Likely kidnapped in the mountains, they will stop at nothing to find him. Jenna Meyers has lived in town all her life and is friends with Molly, the only sister of the McKinnon’s clan. Jenna recently left an abusive marriage and is trying to make a name it as a real estate agent. When she encounters a dilapidated cabin, and goes in to investigate she not only finds blood but men are determined to harm her. She escapes and she goes to inform the sheriff she once again. That’s when she sees her teenage crush, Sebastian/Bastian McKinnon. A Navy SEAL on leave. The attraction is immediate but both have a great deal of baggage. The plot was engaging, and the characters interesting. My one issue with the story is the insta-romance between Jenna and Bastian. Mostly from Bastian’s POV. That said, it was an entertaining story. I suspect Molly will be getting her story soon, likely with Parker and hopefully, the senior McKinnon will be found alive. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Seal's Vow, Book 4 in the Iron Horse Legacy Series hit the spot for me. It's a combination of action, mystery, suspense, and of course, unrequited love:) Two people find their paths crossing once again. Jenna, an abused divorcée turned real estate agent and part time sleuth and Bastian, the hunky Navy Seal on personal leave. These two see sparks start to ignite when Jenna's real estate dealings lead her to find grisly clues to Bastian's missing dad's possible whereabouts. Confusing, yes and no. While you can follow the plot and characters, it does help to have read the previous books in the series (not a big hardship ), seeing as the author just continues on from her previous storyline. Full disclosure-there were 1-2 scenes where I felt that the heroine was TSTL (too stupid to live) but overall she was worthy to be Bastian's love interest. Good job by Elle James! The story thread in this book does get resolved and there is a personal HEA -but the overall plot remains unsolved. Poor dad remains kidnapped:( Stay tuned for the next installment in the Iron Horse Legacy-it's bound to be a wild ride! I received an ARC to review.

This is my first book in the Iron Horse Legacy series. It can be read as a standalone, and it is not a cliffhanger in terms of Bastian and Jenna's relationship. Yet, it is a cliffhanger in terms of the search for the McKinnon patriarch. I was a little disappointed at the ending. Bastian and Jenna's relationship status came about so quickly. I guess if you spend as much time in stressful situations as they did, it makes for a good foundation. I understood Jenna's need to stand on her own two feet considering her past, but if I am in a dangerous situation with gun toting crazies, I would definitely want that Navy SEAL right in front of me. And next to me....and behind me too. Forget pride. I can see that I'm going to have to read the first 3 books, so that I can get the full picture of why James McKinnon was kidnapped, and maybe some ideas as to who would be behind it. This was a fast paced, action packed read with some steamy scenes, suspense, and mystery. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
