Each chapter begins by surveying the problem in each country since the Second World War, before going on to outline the roles fulfilled by national housing agencies and local authorities, as well as assessing the impact of housing policies on society and on the physical shape of cities. It considers whether housing policies have succeeded or failed and how the ‘housing problem’ has changed over time. Each chapter draws out lessons that can be learned for the future from each country’s past handling of the problem.

Acerca do autor
Dr Martin Wynn is Reader in the University of Gloucestershire Business School, and previously held management posts in industry at Glaxo Pharmaceuticals (now GlaxoSmithKline) and HP Bulmer (now part of Heineken UK). He has published in a wide range of academic journals including Town Planning Review, Journal of the American Planning Association, Journal of Information Technology and Strategic Change. His research interests include urban planning and development, interactive training methods, information systems in industry and knowledge management. He is a qualified project manager and certified management consultant.
