About the author

Ron Spomer's 20-year tenure as a hunting writer and photographer is exceeded only by his 30-year career as a whitetail deer hunter. Starting at age 14 in South Dakota, Ron has hunted whitetails in nine states with rifle, bow and muzzleloader. His articles and photographs have appeared in many books and more than 90 magazines. Gary Clancy considers himself a turkey-hunting addict. He's hunted wild turkey all across North America and routinely hunts in a half-dozen states or more each spring.
