This is Robyn MacBridge's first book on the matter of child sexual
abuse. What inspired her to write about it is the fact that she got
tired of hearing about child molestation in the churches and teachers or
coaches taking advantage of children and adolescence who look up to
them.
But when she looked further into the subject matter, she
discovered that child sexual abuse was more prevalent "inside" the home
which startled her so much that she felt that people really need to know
how much this is going on right in their midst.
In her opinion,
enough isn't being done about it in terms of protection for children and
punishment for the perpetrators - family member or not. Sexual abuse is
cruel. And when it comes to children, it's outright evil because they
can't defend themselves and sometimes they don't even realize that their
innocence is being taken away.
Although this is just one book,
she's just one person and this is her way of exposing the reality of
child sexual abuse to those who maybe don't know much about it such as
the impact it has on the life of the victims in so many ways for the
rest of their lives.
Children are everywhere; so the more
"normal" a childhood that boys and girls can have the happier and
healthier the world can be. We can all endeavor to make a difference in
our own way.
