As more and more people become homeless there will be fewer and fewer shelters and food kitchens which offer free assistance to the homeless. No pleading or prodding of elected officials will change citizen resistance to offer more subsidies and a greater availability of food for homeless people. The only assistance in the long run that will make a difference must come from the homeless themselves.
The most helpful gift anyone can offer to the homeless is to help shift their attitude from helplessness to hopefulness. I believe this is possible by shifting attitudes from "poor me" to "look at me." This is Not an easy shift to make given the dire Circumstances many homeless confront.
It is possible for anyone who is homeless today to shift their current habit of begging to a fresh approach as they ascend to becoming a successful entrepreneur. This book offers business strategies that can be launched today by the homeless which require no upfront money, no office, no business loans, no business plan and no profit and loss statements. Any one of these new businesses offer the promise of tripling the current income stream of homeless who currently rely on begging to keep themselves and their families alive.
Obviously, people who are homeless cannot purchase this book. You can. Instead of giving a beggar a handout, why not give them a copy of my book? Better yet, why not request that your library acquire it so that the homeless who hang out in your public library can read it.
Some people who are homeless are so sick that they do not have the energy to become an entrepreneur. Some do. Help them. They will in turn help others.
This book is not about promoting soup kitchens or arguing for more shelters. This book is not about creating a public policy that promises to solve the problem of homelessness.
From Homeless to Entrepreneur is all about empowering people who currently find themselves who no money and no home to create a new life for themselves that offers promise of a better life. The book contains the following sections:
