About the author

The author, Rob Phayre, delivered some of the largest ransoms ever paid at sea to Somali Pirates. He and his teams would then rescue the crew and the vessels and take them to a safe port. In this fictional gripping tale, Rob reveals some of the secrets on how all that was done successfully, time and time again.

Rob spent his first career in the British military as a helicopter pilot and commander. He flew in the second Gulf war and on counter terrorism operations in Northern Ireland.

In his military and civilian security career, Rob worked in deserts, jungles and in icy wastelands. He solved crisis' in failed states, and in advanced economies. He has a huge breadth and depth of experience and that shows clearly in his characters, his plot lines and the descriptions in his writing.
