About this ebook

Two Classic Western Novels from the Legendary Richard Matheson

Journal of the Gun Years, winner of the Spur Award for Best Western Novel, tells the gripping tale of Marshal Clay Hauser, a Civil War veteran whose daring exploits in the wild frontier cow towns earned him the title "Hero of the Plains." But fame proves to be his greatest enemy, haunting him until his violent end.

The Memoirs of Wild Bill Hickok recounts the true story of James Butler Hickok, the man behind the myth. As a gunfighter and U.S. marshal, Hickok carved out a legend surpassing any fictional hero, becoming a celebrity in his own time.

"Matheson excels at the depiction of one man alone, locked in a desperate struggle against a force or forces greater than himself." --Stephen King
