Twelve-year-old Anna is looking forward to the birth of her baby brother. Ben arrives, but is disabled and will never be like other children. Anna loves him with her whole heart, but she finds herself unable to admit the truth of Ben's condition to her school friends. Elizabeth Laird is the multi-award-winning author of several much-loved children's books, including The Prince Who Walked with Lions and Oranges in No Man's Land. She has been shortlisted for the prestigious CILIP Carnegie Medal for Jake's Tower, Red Sky in the Morning, Secret Friends, A Little Piece of Ground, The Garbage King and The Fastest Boy in the World. She lives in Britain now, but still likes to travel as much as she can.
