This is a cute, quick read that is easy to digest and is most suitable for teens due to the clean romance it depicts (especially compared to a lot of recently released romantasies). The writing style and plot are both pretty simple and straightforward without a lot of flourish, which could be helpful for people who aren't used to reading or those who have a relatively low reading stamina. It can, however, feel a bit hollow if you're used to more decadent writing. I recommend reading a preview to get a feel for the book as the author has done a pretty good job of keeping the same quality throughout the entire text. Personally, I loved this series when I was in middle school and just wanted to reread it to see how it held up as an adult.

I found all the characters one note, they had no depth. Also lots of repeating, for instant something would happen with the main characters, then you would have the main female character telling her friends about it for 10± pages, don't mind it once or twice, but most of the book is like this. Generally the story line is okay, just wasn't my style of writing, and I felt like with the secrets in the books, like about her Dad there wasn't any grand reveal, was just very mehh.

Still my favorite series after 8 years, I've read the first book at least 30 times and the second at least 15. She has a beautiful way of gradually including more characters storylines as the books progress while also keeping the orignal characters consistently in the plots and books. I highly suggest getting wrapped up in some blankets and sipping hot chocolate with this series because once you start it good luck putting it down. -fan since 2012
