The unfathomable behavior of his son and heir—and the ever-present factions between the elven people—forces Kith-Kanan to deeply question the society he has worked so hard to create.

Paul B. Thompson is the author of more than 20 books, including the Ergoth Trilogy and By the Sword, a biography of Joan of Arc for young readers. He lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two children.
