Par šo e-grāmatu

A new translation into modern American English of Goethe's 1785 Poem Prometheus. This edition contains an Afterword by the Translator, a Timeline of Goethe’s Life & Works and a Glossary of Philosophic Terminology used by Goethe. In this short fragmentary poem, Goethe delves into the realm of Greek mythology, presenting a thought-provoking exploration of the Prometheus myth. With an astute command of language and profound philosophical insight, Goethe examines the existential predicament of the defiant Titan. Drawing on academic rigor and advanced vocabulary, he probes the moral and ethical dimensions of Prometheus' actions, highlighting the intricate relationship between rebellion and its consequences. Through poetic language and intellectual discourse, Goethe presents Prometheus as a symbol of human ambition and the pursuit of knowledge, inviting readers to ponder the boundaries of human agency and the price of defying the gods.
