Since the 1960s a resurgence of interest in the moral foundations of politics has fueled debates about the appropriate sources of our political judgments. Ian Shapiro is Associate Professor of Political Science at Yale University. He is author of The Evolution of Rights in Liberal Theory and of numerous articles about politics, political theory, and the history of ideas.
