Harry Harrison (1925-2012) was an American science fiction author, best known for his novel "Make Room! Make Room!" which was adapted into the film "Soylent Green". He was born in Stamford, Connecticut and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he worked as an illustrator for various science fiction magazines before becoming a full-time writer. Harrison was a prolific author, writing dozens of novels and short stories throughout his career, and was also known for his humorous science fiction works. In addition to his writing, he was a political activist and was involved in several organizations promoting progressive causes.
