After the first three poetry books like 'Gondan', 'Anolakh', and Janmajanhavi' this is the new poetry book by Shanta Shelke. The poems under this collection make us realize that the poetess has accepted the new trend in the world of poetry gracefully, successfully; at the same time, nowhere she has forgotten the age-old traditions of Marathi poems. While practicing the new style, she genuinely grasps the new angles, new meanings, new universe of the changed style, yet deep inside her poem remains the same simple and casual, spontaneously relating the words to the meaningful stanzas, one after other; with the same passion.
गोंदण, अनोळख, जन्मजान्हवी या कवितासंग्रहांनंतर आता शान्ताबाईंचा ’पूर्वसंध्या’ हा नवा कवितासंग्रह रसिकांसमोर येत आहे. मराठी कवितेच्या पूर्वपरंपरेशी असलेले आपले नाते जपत असतानाच शान्ताबाईंनी नव्या कवितेशीही सुजाण रसिकपणाने अनुबंध जोडला आणि तिच्यातली स्वतःला भावलेली वैशिष्ट्ये आत्मसात केली. भाषेची नवी वळणे, आशयसंपृक्तता, वेगळी प्रतिमासृष्टी हे सारे त्यांच्या कवितेने स्वतः मुरवून घेतले, पण हे जुने-नवे काव्यसंस्कार घेतानाही त्यांची कविता ही पुन्हा त्यांचीच राहिली. साधी, सरळ, सहजपणे आपले मनोगत व्यक्त करणारी आणि रसिकांशी मोकळ्या जिव्हाळ्याने बोलणारी...
