The Manual written by the authors is a good attempt which is based on their experience of teaching undergraduate courses and study of post graduate degree programme. The language used in the manual is simple and lucid. The outline and description of practical exercises of the subject that include objectives, materials required, procedures and observations to be taken have been nicely presented which would be helpful in conducting practical’s more effectively. We hope this manual makes its own place in the libraries of Agricultural and Veterinary Universities along with various Livestock Institutions in near future.

About the author
The author, Pratyush Kumar : was born in Purnea district of Bihar. He completed his Secondary School Examination and Senior School Certificate Examination from C.B.S.E.. He got B.V.Sc. and A.H. graduation from College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Anand Agricultural University, Anand, Gujarat in the year 2014. He earned M.V.Sc. degree in Discipline of Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology and Obstetrics from College of Veterinary
Science and Animal Husbandry, Jabalpur, N.D.V.S.U. (Madhya Pradesh) in the year 2018. He has also qualified national eligibility test (NET) thrice in Animal Reproduction and Gynaecology, conducted by ASRB, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. Currently, he is a Ph.D Scholar, Discipline of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics at ICAR-
National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana. He publishes many papers including research articles and review papers in peer-reviewed journals.
Nadeem Shah: was born in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. He has earned B.V.Sc. and
A.H. degree from A.A.U. Anand, Gujarat in 2014 and M.V.Sc. degree in Veterinary
Gynaecology & Obstetrics from DUVASU, Mathura in 2016. He had served as a Senior Research Fellow in the project of “Semen Sexing in Cattle” at ICAR-NDRI, Karnal for 2 years and currently pursuing a Ph.D. from ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute since 2019. He was recipient of the Vice-Chancellor Medal in M.V.Sc. and the Young Researcher Award for the Master's research work. He published several research and review articles in the international and national journals.
Surya Prakash Pannu, : is a Research Scholar in Animal Reproduction, Gynaecology, and Obstetrics. He graduated from the College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Bikaner, Rajasthan in 2016 and completed my M.V.Sc. in 2019 from the Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and
Obstetrics, Bikaner, Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS).
Currently, he is pursuing Ph.D. from National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal,
Haryana.
Poonam Yadav: is a Ph.D Scholar in Division of Physiology and Climatology, ICAR-
IVRI, Izatnagar Bareilly (U.P.). She has graduated in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry in 2018 and M.V.Sc. in 2020 from DUVASU, Mathura. She has published many papers in
international and national journals.
