‘प्रज्ञा आणि प्रतिभा’ (भाग-२) हा वि.स.खांडेकरांचा प्रातिनिधिक समीक्षात्मक लेखांचा संग्रह आहे. यात एकूण एकवीस समीक्षात्मक लेख आहेत. ‘सरस्वती मंदिरातील दिवाणी दावा’ या लेखातून खांडेकर मराठी भाषेची बिनतोड वकिली करतात, तर अव्वल इंग्रजी कालखंडानंतर मराठी भाषा व साहित्यास स्वबळ व स्वचेहरा प्राप्त कसा झाला, ते ‘लघुकथा’ आणि ‘मराठी लघुकथा’ या दोन लेखांतून स्पष्ट करतात. तसेच त्यांच्या स्वत:च्या ‘ययाति’, ‘उल्का’, ‘कांचनमृग’ या कादंबऱ्यांवरही त्यांनी लेख लिहिले आहेत. साहित्य संमेलनांवरही त्यांनी भाष्य केलं आहे. तर हे सगळेच लेख खांडेकरांची काव्य-शास्त्र-विनोदाची जाण, त्यांची अभ्यासू, स्वागतशील वृत्ती, मराठीविषयीचं प्रेम, त्यांचा दांडगा व्यासंग इ. गुणांचं दर्शन घडवणारे आहेत आणि पुढील पिढीसाठी मार्गदर्शक आहेत. ते अवश्य वाचले पाहिजेत.A collective representation from a critique’s point of view, this a compilation of twenty-one articles. Khandekar advocates Marathi language through ‘Saraswati Mandiratil Diwani Dava’. His ‘Laghukatha’ and ‘Marathi Laghukatha’ allow us to understand how Marathi as a language and as literature gained grounds post English era. He has also scrutinized his own work such as ‘Yayati’, ‘Ulka’ and ‘Kanchanmrug’. His thoughts on literary festival-Sahitya Sammelan gives food for our thinking. All his articles bring the best out of him. His command over poetry, humour, science etc. is worth praising. They are witness of his industrious nature, embracing and accepting tendency, love for Marathi language and in depth knowledge. He himself has been an ideal for many. The coming generations will certainly be benefitted by his articles.
