Der kurze Traktat Über die Farben gehört zu denjenigen im Corpus Aristotelicum überlieferten Schriften, die nur eine sehr begrenzte Rezeption erfahren haben. Das mag mit der Schwierigkeit zusammenhängen, den Text zunächst zu verstehen und eine in sich stimmige Theorie daraus zu entnehmen wie mit der Schwierigkeit, eine solche Theorie dann in Einklang mit genuin aristotelischer Lehre zu bringen. Vielleicht fordert die vorliegende kommentierte Übersetzung die weitere wissenschaftliche Diskussion dieses durchaus nicht uninteressanten Versuches einer an den Fakten erprobten Farbenlehre.
