Par šo e-grāmatu

This book describes the design, synthesis, performance and practical application of energetic materials. The book consists of thirteen chapters demonstrating the design routes of nitrogen-rich polycyclic-based energetic materials that are bicyclic, tricyclic and tetracyclic-based. It presents the synthesis of the energetic backbone, the construction of linkage and the introduction of energetic units, which could have a positive impact on the chemistry of not only on high-energy-density materials but also in other fields. The book also provides detailed analysis of the experimental methods discussed. Work in this area will benefit from the combine expertise from organic, inorganic and physical chemistry as well as other connected disciplines. As such this book has wide appeal and will help in increasing fundamental knowledge of nitrogen-rich heterocycles to eventually allow for this knowledge to be transferred into industrial applications.

Par autoru

Guangbin Cheng was born in Anhui, China in October, 1967 and is a professor in School of Chemical Engineering at Nanjing University of Science and Technology. He received his MSc from East China Normal University in 1997 and Ph.D from Nanjing University of Science and Technology in applied chemistry in 2002 under the supervision of Prof. Chunxu Lu. He was a visiting scholar at Georg-August-University of Goettingen in Germany from August, 2004 to August, 2005. His current research interest is green nitration and the synthesis of novel energetic compounds by exploring new methods of N-N formation.

Hongwei Yang was born in Xinjiang, China on March, 1979 and is a professor in School of Chemical Engineering at Nanjing University of Science and Technology. She received her MSc from Xinjiang University in 2004 and Ph.D from Nanjing University in organic chemistry in 2007 under the supervision of Prof. Chengjian Zhu. She then moved to the Laboratory for Translational Research at Harvard University to do postdoctoral research with Prof. Michael Chroev from March 2008 to October 2010. Her current research interest is the synthesis of novel energetic compounds and especially high-energy and low-sensitivity materials.

Jie Tang was born in Anhui, China in September, 1996 and is an associate professor in School of Chemical Engineering at Nanjing University of Science and Technology. He received his BS from Anhui University of Science and Technology in 2017 and Ph.D from Nanjing University of Science and Technology in chemical engineering and technology in 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Guangbin Cheng and Prof. Hongwei Yang. His current research interest is the synthesis and performance of novel nitrogen-rich energetic compounds.
