I can't trust anyone. I've lived by those words the last nine years and have gotten by unscathed. I prided myself on being able to con my way out of sticky situations. But I couldn't scam my way out of Ivan's compound. 

I needed someone else for that. Another leader in the criminal underworld that offered me a deal I couldn't pass up. Problem is, this leader saved me with this deal. He keeps saving me. And now that everything between us is changing, I can't shake the feeling that there might be someone else I can rely on after all.
