Die Subkultur zeichnet sich durch ästhetische Inszenierungspraxen aus, in denen Konzeptionen von Körper und Geschlecht fluide erscheinen. Die vertraute Geschlechtsbinarität wird überschritten: Eine Zuordnung zu den Polen »männlich« oder »weiblich« wird erschwert und auch heterosexuelles Begehren wird in Frage gestellt.
Wie konstituieren sich Subjekte in und durch Praxis? Und wie werden sie darin anerkannt, möglich und lebbar? Nadine Heymanns ethnographische Studie geht diesen Fragen vor dem Hintergrund von Bourdieus Theorie der Praxis und Butlers Konzept der Performativität nach.
