About the author

Muhammad Asif is a professor at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He is a chartered engineer, a fellow of the Energy Institute, a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a certified energy manager. He has 20 years of teaching and research experience at various European and Middle Eastern universities. His areas of research interest include energy transition, renewable energy, energy policy, energy security, sustainable buildings, and life cycle assessment. He has authored/edited seven books and has published more than 150 journal and conference papers.

Guller Sahin is an associate professor at Kutahya Health Sciences University. She received her Ph.D. in 2018 with the title of Environmental Sustainability Context Level-2 Sub-Regions an Analysis of Turkey from Inonu University. Her research interests focus mostly on environmental economics, natural resources economics, and health economics. She has a total of 64 publications, including a book, book chapters, articles, and papers in these research areas.

Muhammad Khalid earned his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of New South Wales in 2011. Currently, he serves as an associate professor in the Electrical Engineering Department, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals. Additionally, he is a research affiliate with the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Renewable Energy and Power Systems within KFUPM. His diverse research interests include renewable power systems, energy storage, hydrogen technologies, net-zero energy buildings, sustainability, electric vehicles, and smart-grids. He has contributed significantly to these fields, authoring/co-authoring numerous research articles.
