I read the first two just so that if I accepted the free copy of this one, it would make sense. Oh. My. God. The vampire has a heart. Who would have known? I thought for sure that I would hate Jasper so much! And sometimes I thought that I was right. There were so many times that I was sure that he was playing Astrid, or just manipulating her. At one point, I wanted to throw my phone into the street, because I was so mad at him! Luckily, I did not do that, and I just kept reading the book. There was so much action and intrigue. An unfortunate amount of betrayal and human sacrifice… But I finished it! And now I'm craving MORE! Just like one of those vampire junkies, itching for a fix… Next book, please!

So this book follows Jasper, the MMC and Astrid, the FMC. If you have read the synopsis, that will give you a pretty good overall idea of what to expect. Unfortunately, there isn’t much I can add that wouldn’t be a spoiler, except there is spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. A HEA for the main characters and a cliffhanger. I would like to thank the author and BookSirens for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and voluntarily given. As always, I wish you happy reading!

4.25 stars. This story is female lead POV, well written, and fast-paced, contemporary fantasy romance. I enjoyed Astrid’s ferocity and her focus on her goal of vampire elimination. I appreciated that she was open to new information, even though she wasn’t necessarily pleased with the new data. I enjoyed Jasper’s patient perseverance around Astrid’s stubbornness. I enjoyed the way he facilitated her choices where that was possible. I enjoyed their way their relationship developed.
