In this issue we will continue four lines of ministry. The first line--The History of the Lord's Recovery--contains chapters 17 through 20 of The Kernel of the Bible, which are in volume 1 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1977. This section includes messages on the church as the new man, the Lord's need for churches, the New Jerusalem, and walking in the spirit.The second line--Words for New Believers--contains chapters 6 through 9 of The Fulfillment of God's Purpose by the Growth of Christ in Us, which are in volume 1 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1970. These chapters cover our growing up into Christ in all things, growth in life for God's building, the development of life for the expression of life, and our enjoying Christ in the spirit for the church life.The third line--Maturing in Life--contains chapters 23 through 26 of Perfecting Training, which are in volume 1 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1980. These chapters contain messages on the top revelation of the Bible--the Body of Christ, the focal point of Romans--the Body of Christ, sonship for the Body life, and our presenting to God an unemployed body for the Body life.The fourth line--The High Peak of the Divine Revelation--contains chapters 4 through 7 of The Christian Life, which are in volume 2 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1991–1992. These chapters cover the functions of the all-inclusive Spirit, the all-inclusive death of Christ, and the all-inclusive resurrection of Christ.

Born in 1905 in northern China, Witness Lee was raised in a Christian family and educated in English-speaking schools. At the age of 19 he believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and consecrated himself to preach the gospel. Early in his service, Witness Lee met Watchman Nee and began to labor together with him. In 1949 Witness Lee was sent by Watchman Nee to Taiwan to ensure that the things delivered to them by the Lord would be preserved. In 1962 Witness Lee came to the United States and began to minister here. He ministered in weekly conferences, delivering several thousand spoken messages until 1997. He gave his last public conference in February 1997 at the age of 91. His major work, Life-Study of the Bible, comprises over 25,000 pages of commentary on every book of the Bible from the perspective of the believers' enjoyment and experience of God's divine life in Christ through the Spirit.
