In this issue we will continue four lines of ministry. The first line--The History of the Lord's Recovery--contains chapters 1 through 4 of The Kernel of the Bible, which are in volume 1 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1977. This section includes messages concerning the kernel in Genesis, the kernel in Exodus, the kernel from Exodus to 1 Kings, and eating in Egypt, in the wilderness, and in the good land. The second line--Words for New Believers--contains chapters 6 through 9 of The Crucial Revelation of Life in the Scriptures, which are in volume 2 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1969. These chapters cover the flow of life, life versus knowledge, eating and drinking in the New Testament, and the breath of life. The third line--Maturing in Life--contains chapters 7 through 10 of Perfecting Training, which are in volume 1 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1980. These chapters contain messages concerning how to peel off self for the dealing with opinion, peculiarity--a deeper problem, and the hidden frustration of peculiarity. The fourth line--The High Peak of the Divine Revelation--contains chapters 4 through 7 of Crystallization-study of the Gospel of John, which are in volume 4 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1994–1997. These chapters speak of the processed Triune God and the all-inclusive Christ--the further revelation of Christ concerning His all-inclusiveness in the Gospel of John.

Born in 1905 in northern China, Witness Lee was raised in a Christian family and educated in English-speaking schools. At the age of 19 he believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and consecrated himself to preach the gospel. Early in his service, Witness Lee met Watchman Nee and began to labor together with him. In 1949 Witness Lee was sent by Watchman Nee to Taiwan to ensure that the things delivered to them by the Lord would be preserved. In 1962 Witness Lee came to the United States and began to minister here. He ministered in weekly conferences, delivering several thousand spoken messages until 1997. He gave his last public conference in February 1997 at the age of 91. His major work, Life-Study of the Bible, comprises over 25,000 pages of commentary on every book of the Bible from the perspective of the believers' enjoyment and experience of God's divine life in Christ through the Spirit.
