About this eBook

My instincts warned me that Alex Volkov is a dangerous man. My mind told me to run when he set his sights on me with unfaltering determination. It’s not that I didn’t try to resist, but Alex had a game plan. He was always one step ahead of me, skillfully drawing me deeper into his web. Even when he gave me freedom, it was only an illusion.

Now, even that illusion has vanished. I’m his prisoner in the truest sense of the word, whisked away to Russia on his private plane. I no longer have a say, not while our lives are at risk, and maybe never again. Our story balances on a thin edge between disaster and happiness. With each day that passes, I grow less certain of which side the coin will land on… or if we’ll even survive.

Note: This is the conclusion of Alex and Kate's story.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review. My instincts warned me that Alex Volkov is a dangerous man. My mind told me to run when he set his sights on me with unfaltering determination. It's not that I didn't try to resist, but Alex had a game plan. He was always one step ahead of me, skillfully drawing me deeper into his web. Even when he gave me freedom, it was only an illusion. I am not even sure how to review this book. I don't want to five a thing away for anyone. I can tell you that this is the second book and you need to read White Nights first or you are going to be lost. This book picks up right where that one left off and you are with Kate as she is learning to deal with the fact that she is in love with a man that doesn't really consider the things he makes her do to keep her safe. It is of the utmost importance that he keeps her safe at all times. She is his world after all. She doesn't understand that is is for her own good too that she is so confined. Kate though really does trust Alex even though he basically took her and she has a hard time figure out how she should react to all this. I felt like there was not right or wrong answer for Kate to get too because if there is one thing in this book that is certain it is that they love each other. I loved Alex so much from the beginning. He loves Kate and would never let anything happen to her and he might be the most dangerous man in all the land but would never left Kate be afraid of him. I could go on and on and one but I won't do that to you. Like I said there is no easy way to review this book and not be afraid to give out a spoiler.

“I’ve made her a part of my world by falling in love with her. I’ve dragged her into the filth, and there’s no going back. Not now. Not ever. She’s been mine and I’ve been hers from the moment I laid my eyes on her.” Alex and Kate’s wild journey has come to an end! I love that for a most this book it was set in Russia. Although Kate would definitely disagree. Kate has always been extremely independent and to go from that to being forced to stay in Russia, a country that she doesn’t know the native tongue, is being kept in Alex‘s house, guarded with multiple guards. She can’t go on the Internet, she can’t use the phone and it is a huge struggle for her to lose all basic rights because Alex is doing everything he can to keep her safe from whoever is trying to get to him. Alex is not wanting to tell her everything that’s going on, and with Kates mother in the states, it’s really overwhelming. And you can totally empathize with her character. Alex is Alex though. And when these two have sex, it is pure fire. The anal scenes. Lots of it. And buttplugs. 😂😂🔥 “Her body sways rhythmically to my beat. She’s a beautiful instrument to play, and all her songs are mine.” There is OW drama but Alex wants absolutely nothing to do with this person. The OW purely wants Alex because her family and Alex will make an extremely powerful coupling. No cheating❌ There is a manipulation between this OW and Kate.. which does bring some new drama into the story. However book 2 of this duet, we finally get the conclusion on who’s been after Alex and why. And it does leave off on a really cute and happy epilogue.

Midnight Days is the stunning conclusion to the White Nights duet series by Anna Zaires and Charmaine Pauls. As always, these two authors continue to captivate me with their writing, characters, and steamy love scenes. Katherine and Alex's story was angsty, frustrating at times, sexy as sin, and action-packed. This book was much "darker" in comparison to White Nights because Alex's obsession and desire to possess his Katerina is magnified and much more intense. The story takes place immediately after the events of the first book and it broke my heart to see how confused and betrayed Kate felt over Alex's actions. Kate is extremely independent and self-reliant so it was interesting to see how she dealt with her loss of freedom. On the flip side, we also get to see Alex's own confusion, frustration, determination and his need to protect Kate at all costs—even if she might hate him for clipping her wings. I loved the push and pull between Kate and Alex, even when it also frustrated me because I wanted them to communicate with each other better. There is no denying that there was a significant shift in the power dynamic of their relationship and Alex now had all of the control. He was extremely overprotective of Kate because she was his weakness and love of his life. In the end, the White Night duet series was everything I wanted and more. I loved reading Alex and Kate's rollercoaster of a love story and was sad to see it end. There was a scene in the end that brought tears to my eyes because Alex finally showed Kate his white nights or midnight days. Alex fell in love with Kate because of her dedication and need to protect and save others—she was his angel.
