Each poem acts as a meditation or lesson, focusing on themes like:
Personal Empowerment: e.g., The Path, The Decision, Assertiveness
Emotional Healing: e.g., Hurt, Loneliness, Guilt, Abandonment
Spiritual Understanding: e.g., The Purpose of Life, The Illusion of Form, The Awakening
Universal Love and Unity: e.g., Love, Your Heart-Your World, Enlightenment
Mindfulness and Presence: e.g., Silence, The Mind, Now
The tone is compassionate, gentle, and encouraging—aiming to guide readers toward self-awareness and inner transformation.
Written in a poetry style format, the messages offer a concentrated explanation of important life issues, giving clear, concise definitions and guidance on how to deal with the many issues covered. Writing in this concentrated manner makes them an excellent addition to more lengthy books and teachings on the topics covered. One hint, the definitions are often in the first one or two lines, and their significance can be easily missed, so read those lines slowly, or if you are like me, many times.
Messages From the Love Within can be read as a regular book from start to finish or simply by opening a page, reading it, and reflecting on what the words on that page mean to you. Two examples of how you could do this are:
After reading the poem 'The Path', you could sit quietly and ask yourself, in what ways can I honour the uniqueness of my life's path?
Or, from the poem 'Judgement' with the theme, release and accept, you could ask - who or what do I judge, and what fear lies beneath it?
While deeply spiritual, the book avoids religious doctrine, making it accessible to readers from various backgrounds who seek personal truth.
It is ideal For Readers Who:
Are going through emotional struggles or transitions.
Seek inner peace or spiritual clarity.
Appreciate reflective, poetic language.
Want guidance that feels intimate, loving, and empowering.
Enjoy journaling or meditating on spiritual texts.

Messages from the Love Within was written using a method referred to as automatic writing. Automatic writing is a natural and easy process where it seems the words just write themselves. There is no need to think you simply write and when it is time to stop, you just seem to know. The process is so different to normal writing that even though it is all my original work, I have handwritten every word and I own the copyright it doesn’t feel like it is my work, nor my creation. Therefore automatic writing means that as an author my personal knowledge, training or qualifications are far less important than they would be in the case of other self-help authors where their experience and knowledge is critical. The main skill I needed was the ability to write, spell and accept the words as they came and not change or try to improve them so they fit my ideas or beliefs.
For those who are interested in a little about me, I was born in Sydney, Australia, number six in a family of ten children. My father was a Medical Practitioner and my mother owned and managed a real estate agency. I was raised a Catholic but as an adult soon realized I was more suited to the individual spiritual and meditation path more than a structured religious one. In the mid-1980s I embraced the new age movement exploring different ideas and concepts, different religions, spiritual teachers and teachings and traveled on a number of occasions to India.
It was following one of these trips in 1995 that I started to write down my thoughts, thinking one day sharing my experiences and insights may help others. After doing that for a few weeks I had an unusual dream. During that dream I felt a surge of energy move through the palms of my hands, I then saw myself collapse on the floor. Next, I remember seeing myself sitting at a desk, writing on a pad and saying out loud, “I understand, I now automatically write”.
A few days later I thought I would see what happened if I sat at a desk with pen and paper as I had seen myself in the dream. Almost immediately I started to write. Words flowed easily, effortlessly and very quickly. They came in a poetry style format covering many different topics and I found if I needed to think of what to write next it was time to stop, as the truth of the message may be distorted by my personal perception of what should be. This process continued for the next few months and again in 1996. The result is this book.
Today I love reading and listening to many authors and teachers and taking from them what has meaning for me and I have especially found the words in these messages to be a great guide and help to me so I am very pleased I am able to share them with others by publishing them.
