They want to believe in a good end, but feel obliged by their pious conscience to postulate an eternal divorce. The present work changes the objections against all-reconciliation into arguments in its favor. After reading it, all religious neurosis-inducing fantasies of hell can be confidently dismissed. The doctrine of hell is not replaced by cultural Protestant relativism, but by a Christocentric, biblically based and hope-filled optimism that has the Risen Lord and his possibilities in mind.

About the author
Martin Thoms, Jahrgang 1999, studierte Theologie in Braunschweig und Reutlingen und promoviert im Fach Systematische Theologie an der Kirchlichen Hochschule Wuppertal. Von 2023 bis 2024 war er Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Neues Testament und Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Altes Testament an der Theologischen Hochschule Reutlingen. Er ist Autor des Buches »Der gottverlassene Gott« (Münster 2023). Zu seinen Lehrern gehörte Jürgen Moltmann, mit dem er bis zu seinem Tod im intensiven Austausch war.
