About this ebook

The mind-expanding journey that began with Noumenon and Noumenon Infinity continues in this wondrous mosaic tale of deep space exploration, adventure, and humanity that blends the awe, science, and speculative imagination of Arthur C. Clarke, Neal Stephenson, and Octavia Butler.

Left to watch over a planet created by the alien structure known as the Web, the ships of the NOUMENON convoy and the artificial intelligence I.C.C. have lain dormant for thousands of years. Now, though, creatures are stirring in the convoy’s halls. With seemingly miraculous speed, the planet is coming to life.

Where have these beings come from? And why? To understand this new anomaly, I.C.C. reaches out to the descendants of its original crew. Together, they will embark on a stunning journey of discovery billions of years in the making.

Noumenon Ultra is the epic conclusion to one of the most remarkable science-fiction series of the twenty-first century – a wondrous exploration of space and of humanity’s future.

Literally the definition of TLDR. If you liked the first 2, this last one was 500 pages that should have been a short story. The concepts are fragmented across tens of thousands of years across different povs and new characters, making it difficult to concentrate on the actual point of the book. Summary: the humans find out what species created the mega structures and why. If after the first - 50 pages this isn't enough of a reason to finish, give up, the prose only gets more choppy from there.

i liked this book, its a bit obvious in places, however, the exploration of branching cultures was pretty cool, and i found myself thinking a lot about the series

About the author

The open skies and dense forests of the Pacific Northwest are ideal for growing speculative fiction authors – or, at least, Marina J. Lostetter would like to think so. Originally from Oregon, she now resides in Arkansas with her husband, Alex. When not writing or drawing she can often be found reading spec-fic, or playing it (she enjoys a good zombie-themed board game now and again). And she does it all while globetrotting.
