About the author
Marilynne Robinson wurde 1943 in Sandpoint, Idaho, am See aus "Haus ohne Halt" geboren. Sie studierte in Rhode Island Englische Literatur, promovierte in Washington und lehrte als Writer-in-Residence und Gastprofessorin an zahlreichen Universitäten. Heute unterrichtet sie am Writer's Workshop in Iowa. Die Pulitzer-Preisträgerin, hierzulande noch nahezu unbekannt, ist eine der wichtigsten Schriftstellerinnen der Gegenwart. 2013 war sie zum zweiten Mal für den Man Booker International Prize nominiert.
