Sedertdien is sestig romanses (kontemporêr, medies en histories) deur LAPA en Tafelberg (NB) Uitgewers gepubliseer. Tans skryf sy voltyds. Sy is getroud met Willie. Hulle dogter Karen is getroud met Barry Botha en daar is drie kleinkinders. Malene skryf ook romans, kortverhale in bundels en tydskrifte, en sy resenseer boeke vir HelderbergFM.
