Die vorliegende qualitative Literaturanalyse behandelt die Frage, ob die soziale Stellung eines Beschuldigten Einfluss auf die Art und Weise seiner strafrechtlichen Verfolgung hat. Für jeden Schritt der Strafverfolgung wird der Forschungsstand anhand von Studien aus Deutschland, den USA und Großbritannien dargestellt und analysiert. Erklärungsansätze für die vorgefundenen Ergebnisse werden erörtert und in einen theoretischen Rahmen, bestehend aus der Labeling-Theorie und der Focal Concerns Theorie, eingeordnet. Abschließend werden Handlungsvorschläge präsentiert.
