Esteya is fifteen. As war rumbles closer, Esteya's brother - an important figure in the Revolutionary Communist Party - is able to protect their family from the worst of the privations of war. B.R. (Bridget) Collins is a graduate of both university and drama school. Her first novel, The Traitor Game, won the Branford Boase Award in 2009. Her other books for Bloomsbury are A Trick of the Dark, Gamerunner, The Broken Road, and Mazecheat. Bridget lives in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
