Landon fights fires and was injured while fighting one in Cedar Springs. Haunted by his past and injured, he accepts a room from the nurse who treated him. Alexandra is captivate by Landon but she refuses to let her feelings get in the way because he is way too much like her husband, whom she lost in the line of duty as a policeman. He's falling fast and the walls around her heart are cracking. Will Landon find the right temperature to incinerate the walls around her heart. This standalone romance is packed with fiery heat and incinerating emotions! Landon and Alex are intensely attracted to each other, but they couldn't be more wrong for each other's long-term goals. Alex is still mourning her adrenaline-junkie late husband and steadfastly refuses to take that kind of risk again, while Landon lives for the opportunity to run straight toward danger and do as much good as he can. Ah, but when Landon needs a place to stay and a bit of skilled nursing care as he recuperates from a nasty accident, Alex can't turn him away and their close proximity forces all their emotions to the surface and things go from zero to explosive in record time. I loved the intense passion in this story - not just for each other, but for their jobs and the community they're working to protect. I really enjoyed getting to know some of the other characters in Cedar Springs, especially those who will be featured in the next book. This series is brilliantly written, and is everything a romance reader could want. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Feeling HOT, HOT, HOT!! Holy firefighters! Landon and his fellow firefighters are definitely swoon worthy and they do all they can to save everyone and everything. Alexandra is a widow whose cop husband was caught in gun fire and died. She was heartbroken and couldn't bear to go through that grief again for any man. But, that is, until she meets Landon. He wasn't expecting to feel the chemistry when he meets Alex who treats him when he is injured in the line of duty. I've read and enjoyed many of Leslie North's other stories and I intend to get myself a copy of book 1 of the Californian Wildfire Fighters and book 3 as I thought this one was so good. Well written, as always, plenty of action, great characters and red hot sizzling steam heat between Landon and Alex. A real page turner that I encourage you to try too. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Definitely Recommended
