Angst and pressure is piling on Rera as she is continuing in her undercover work. I felt at times the tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. O the one hand she’s glad she’s got a way out of a life she has never wanted, yet on the other she’s still being used for someone else’s purpose even if it is a noble one. Though initially sure Tikar’s intentions are all noble. Her actions are harsh at the least and manipulative any way you slice it. I’m enjoying the creative way that Ma’at has at

There’s Justice in Secrets is the second book in Laura Greenwood’s fascinating new Egyptian Empire series spinoff. The contrast between Rera’s environment among the thieves and the Blessed among Temple Row is well defined and makes Rera’s choices understandable. Having a way out of poverty, stealing to survive and protect your younger sister would certainly be appealing yet betraying those who have had your back would cause pain.

Rera and Ben are doing their best not to get caught. Rera is at a loss about Zet's jealousy and tries to play it off. After their last job, Ben sleeps on Rera's sofa but when Zet walks in the next morning, Ben is not wearing his shirt so Rera lies and says that she and Ben are dating. This short read has plenty of drama, ending with a cliffhanger. Very highly recommended. I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
