Laktanz (ca. 250 - ca. 325) war ein frühchristlicher Schreiber, der Berater des römischen Kaisers Konstantin I. wurde und dessen christliche Religionspolitik in der Anfangsphase der Entstehung des Christentums leitete, und der seinem Sohn Crispus als Tutor diente. Er ist vor allem für seine apologetischen Werke bekannt, die in der Renaissance von Humanisten gelesen wurden, die Laktanz den "christlichen Cicero" nannten. In diesem Band finden sich seine Schriften “Von den Todesarten der Verfolger”, “Vom Zorne Gottes”, “Auszug aus den göttlichen Unterweisungen” und “Gottes Schöpfung.”
