Oak Island, NC sounds like a wonderful place to be based and I was drawn into the magic of this small town. Nyla Clark has started a new life after her divorce in Oak Island and it looks as though she has found new love with Cohen Summer. From the moment Cohen met Nyla, he was drawn to her but he has secrets, ones that need to stay secret.However, when Nyla’s ex Miles Henley turns up, complication arise and secrets are revealed? Will it bring them together or rip them apart?

4 1/2 stars for me. I enjoyed this reunion story. Nyla's heart was owned by one man, though she thought that she screwed up her happiness after hurting him. She tried to move on in her new town. Surprise, her ex, Miles, came looking for her, and feelings and connections were still there. Nyla was a strong character and trusting. Miles was honest and open, and determined. Throw in some secrets, a rivalry/family feud, and friends, and this was a wonderfully strong story.

Beginnings By The Sea is a second chance romance for Nyla, a physician who moves to Oak Island after being divorced from her husband Miles, and Cohen, a businessman new to Oak Island. Cohen is focused on winning Nyla’s heart but when Miles comes to town the two men compete for Nyla. Their story has mistrust, secrets, suspense, and unexpected twists. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
