L. Frank Baum, nacque nel 1858 nello stato di New York. Fu giornalista, commesso viaggiatore e scrittore. Pubblicò Il mago di Oz nel 1900. Il libro vendette diecimila copie in due settimane, novantamila in un anno: un successo che continua ancora oggi.
Lucia Salemi è nata a Bologna, dove vive e lavora. Nelle sue immagini predilige il colore al segno, l’interpretazione fantastica e divertente al realismo.
